How many years have you been open?
The Crock has been open for over 45 years now, Fat Sparrow only came on board as the new operators in 2018, Nat and I opened Nick and Nat's Uptown 21 in 2008. Interestingly enough The Crock opened Oct 7th 1975 and we are aiming to reopen the all new crock Oct 7th 2020 after being closed since March 16th.
What are customers likely to find or experience in your restaurant?
A signature Fat Sparrow approach to customer service and hospitality. Nat and I have always prided ourselves on our unwavering passion for customer service and we really hope that shines through to every visit in one of our locations, the stone crock being no exception! As for the food and drink, always a focus on local and seasonal but often with a whimsical approach. We are excited to re-open The Stone Crock in October without the buffets as the have been removed to usher us into not only a Covid safe world but a new world for The Crock where the focus will be on our rich local heritage and amazing farms and producers!
Why do you love what you do?
I'm always at the party without having to wait on an invitation! We get to play host to so many special moments in people's lives and it's not something we take for granted, weddings, reunions, engagements, first dates, celebrations of life, graduations and those simple nights out, we are always there and it's a special feeling to be chosen by our community to play host to these future memories!
Why do you feel St. Jacobs is a great place to shop/dine and visit?
The amazing shops and restaurants, the market just a stroll away, the history, the storybook like streetscape, the river, I mean what's not to love!
